Markham San Diego Trip - Beach

Here we are at like the perfect beach for the kids.  It was this little cove and it was beautiful!
Ty loves the beach.  He's always just happy to be there.
Isaac ALWAYS turns into a sandy mess!
Ty playing with his cousin Emily.  She's so good to him.
Ty was the water boy.  Filling up the bucket for whatever little project they were working on.
 They played FOREVER!
Ty and Isaac with cousins Emily and Travis.  Emily and Travis take such great care of the little boys.
Birds everywhere.  It was such a pretty evening.  I wish I had a picture, but Tanner laid under a beach towel and his cousins put crackers on top of the towel.  Tanner laid there until the birds landed on top of him and jumped up and caught one of them.  I don't know who was more scared?  Tanner or the bird.
Tanner is always making his little cousins laugh.  He's such a good guy :)
Yoshi-Baby loves Isaac.  He tries to kiss/eat Isaac's face everytime he's near him.  It's pretty funny.
Couldn't have picked a prettier night at the beach.

Epcot Center

Cara and Isaac anxious to see the sights!

We started the day off on the wrong foot.
We waited in a very long, not worth it, line for a ride.
Honestly, I don't even remember what it was called...
Everyone had to wait around for us...
Not a good start.

Hanging out at some of the shops along the way.
Being silly.

It was soo hot!  Here we are cooling off in China.
They had the best slushies there.
Carter and Ty in Japan looking at the huge fish in the pond.

Eating and dancing at the German buffet.

Downtown Disney

Here the kids are at Downtown Disney.
Never a dull moment...Always having fun!

At the Lego Store.
Spent a LOT of time there.

Walkin' around.  Checkin' out the sights.

Right before we got to dinner there was a total down
pour.
We ran and got to the restaurant before we got totally drenched.
Here is Ty watching the rain from the balcony of the restaurant.
Poor Aaron and Angela were in the thick of it.
We ate at The House of Blues.
It was absolutely delicious!

After dinner.  Family picture by the lake.
Everything is just so pretty!

Saw what there was to see.
Boys were done window shopping.
Another fun night with the Hooper Clan!

Randoms

Isaac outside pushing his red fire truck.  He loves loves loves this truck.
Ty is just the sweetest little boy a mom could ever ask for.

Springtime Fun

We spend a lot of time at the park here in Southern California.  You can basically go every day of the year and have great weather!
 Playing in the drain.
Isaac just wants to swing the ENTIRE time....
New table that Grandma Shauna bought for the boys.  They have breakfast out on the patio quite often.
Playing dress-up with cousins, Ben and Sara, at Grandma Markhams house.
Boys being boys.  Playing in the drain.  Isaac basically does EVERYTHING that Ty does.

Go Big or Go Home...

 32 years of blonde.
And now red...
(I can never take myself seriously when I have to take a picture of myself...Hence the funny face.)
I was at the park with my friends Barb and Julie.  I must have been having an awful hair day because I decided I needed a change.  I was either going to color it or chop it.

So Barb and I headed to Sally's, then to her house, and bingo...RED hair.

I like it!  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't freaked out at first.  It took me a few weeks to get totally used to.
Every time I saw my hair it threw me off.

But I can honestly say that now I love it.  It's a great change and I'm having fun with it!

Go Big or Go Home.  Right?

2012 Ragnar Relay HB to San Diego

Here's our 'Sole Sister' team the night before at Olive Garden
"carb-loading".
At our first exchange.  Van 1 had just finished their first legs.
Van 2 ran in the heat of the day.  It was about 100 degrees that day.  It was miserably hot.  One of the hardest runs.
Here I am sitting down after my first leg.  It was about 6 miles.
I'm pretty sure I had heat exhaustion because I was so hot, yet I was cold, shaking and had the chills.
First leg was really not that fun :(
Here we are supporting runners and spraying them as they ran by to keep them cool.
Thank heavens, the sun went down and here we are at the midnight exchange.  Van 1 had completed their 2nd legs and it was our turn and we would run through the middle of the night.

Here Wendy and I are in our night-time running gear.  My 2nd leg was only 5 miles and I started running around 1am.  I ran through the ghetto of Escondido.  Bars on all the windows.  Yah, that'll give you warm fuzzies in the pitch black all by yourself.  I wanted to beg the guys passing me by to slow down and run with me, but I didn't...Lived to tell the story :)
Saturday morning.  Got about an hour of sleep and now we're ready to take off again to start our 3rd leg.
I had an 11 mile run ahead of me and was so nervous.  I had never run that far and especially not on only about an hour of sleep.
And we did it!  Jump for joy.
Greg and the boys came down for the 3rd leg and to see us through the finish line.  That last leg of mine was long and it was so nice to see my boys drive by and cheer me on.  At one point they even got out of the car and handed me a water bottle.
At the end Greg told me as the runners were running through the tunnel to the finish line that Ty started to run as fast as he could with them.  He told me that the crowd cheered Ty on as he ran through the tunnel.
I wish I had a picture or was able to witness it.

I loved all the girls on this team.
The Ragnar was such a great experience.  All I can say was that weekend was and forever will be one of the most memorable of my life.  Words just can't describe it!  I had such a great time.  I ran 19.8 miles in about a 36 hour period.  I laughed a lot!  Even cried a little.  It was so neat to be part of something bigger than myself.  It's amazing what you can achieve when you have such a great team cheering you on.  Easily one of the best weekends of my life :)
