In Memory of Kiley

On Wednesday morning I received a phone call from one of my good friends, Jake, letting me know that his nephew, Kiley, had passed away the day before. Allyson, who is Kiley's mother is one of the best friends I have ever had. Tanner and I spent a lot of time around Kiley when he was younger and they lived across the street from us.
Like his Grandma said, "Kiley was full of it". But he was also such a sensitive, fun-loving kid and he LOVED his mom! Kiley has struggled with addiction the past few years and lost the fight on Monday night.
Tanner, Ty and I came to Utah so that I was able to attend the funeral. I wouldn't have missed it for the world! It was a nice day and I appreciate the testimony that both Jeff and Chris shared. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have of the plan of salvation. I'm grateful for our Savoir and his mercy. I'm grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves all of us. I'm grateful that Kiley won't struggle any longer.
I'm so sad for the Steins. Especially Allyson. They have always been a second family to me. Over the years Lindsey and Allyson have watched Tanner countless hours for me. I've eaten at Chris and Jeff's house for more meals than I could possibly remember. Any of them would do anything for me. I am very grateful for our friendships over the years.
So, since this is the closest thing to a journal I have, I wanted to post this because today was an important day to me and an important day for the Stein Family.

Happy Halloween!

After

Before

This was a great Halloween! Let me first off say how nice it is to be home and not working on Halloween. For years I've been working and rushing to get home because it's the last day of the month. Not anymore though...I am so grateful to not have to work full-time anymore!!!
That being said...Halloween was more enjoyable for us! We carved pumpkins with the Warnicks the Monday before. My mom sent the kids a bunch of pumpkin carving stuff and the pumpkins were provided by the Warnicks garden (pretty impressive, huh?) Tanner worked so hard and long on his pumpkin and it paid off because it looks great!
Halloween night we went to Greg's work for a fun Halloween party! Tanner won first place in his costume (pictures were taken by Greg's co-workers and haven't been emailed to me yet). He was Greg's boss. For first place he received a $25 gift card so he was stoked about that! Ty was a little dog and just the cutest little puppy we've ever seen! As you can see in the picture above, Tanner and Carter just loved our little puppy too!
Tanner had his first "party" on Halloween night. We loaded up on treats and 5 kids from our ward came over and watched Arachnaphobia. The ride to and from the boys houses was so entertaining for me. It's funny the things they talk about at this age!
The Jeppersens had us over for funnel cake and wassle. They are such a neat family. We really love our ward here. Everyone is so nice and friendly and they've just made us feel right at home.
We're just really enjoying our new simple life here in Montana :)
